I always love to see different species hanging out together and getting along, like this Wood Stork and Great Egret sharing a spot in a tree. Both egrets and storks nest in trees and often in mixed colonies. I watched them for a while and can happily report they co-existed in perfect harmony. They were quite a long distance from me and up fairly high. A powerful telephoto lens comes in very handy in this situation. Just with my eyes, all I could see were two large white objects in the tree, but I couldn’t tell what they were. When I zoomed in on them, this is the photo I got.
