If you think the Mallard is a colorful bird, which it is, take a look at the gorgeous Wood Duck. I was travelling though Crawford Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire when I noticed a dozen or more Mallards swimming in Saco Lake. Right in the middle of the Mallards was this one lone male Wood Duck. What a sight it was, and I could barely contain my excitement! It was the first time I had seen one in the wild, and I quickly set about photographing it. I am always astounded by the beauty of nature and love being able to capture wildlife, like the Wood Duck, in all its glory.
