This old weatherbeaten Mallard may be a bit worse for wear, but I still think he’s beautiful. He may not have many feathers left on his head, but those that are there are certainly vibrant and colorful. Nature never ceases to amaze. The average lifespan of a Mallard in the wild is about three years, but some may live well into their twenties in captivity. Mallards are considered very tame ducks and grace many city parks.
