Anhingas are certainly very unique birds. Anhingas are water birds and are one of the many different species I’ve seen on Silver Lake on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Along with Anhingas, I’ve spotted Great Egrets, Blue Herons, White Ibis’, Hooded Mergansers, Mallards, a Pekin duck, many turtles, and the Anhingas cousin, the Double-crested Cormorant. It’s amazing how one little lake on an island can provide such vital habitat for a variety of wildlife.
