Reddish Egrets are less common than the white egrets, and I have only seen them at Gould’s Inlet on St. Simons Island. They show up occasionally, so keep your eyes peeled for them. Their neck and head are reddish brown and they have a grayish body. Their bills are black at the tip and pink or flesh colored at the base. They are far more demonstrative hunters than the quiet Great Egret, as they will run and hop around when in feeding mode.
