The male Painted Bunting is considered the most beautifully colored bird in North America. He is certainly a striking sight to see, and his multicolored features are unequaled. This one flew into my bird feeder in the backyard one rainy Saturday afternoon. It is the only time I have ever seen the male Painted Bunting and I was thrilled. This just goes to show you, you never know what might show up in your yard if you make it an inviting place.
