I wanted to show you this full body shot of a Mourning Dove to illustrate its almost perfectly symmetrical wings and its long pointed tail. It has one black spot on its cheek and several black spots scattered on its wings. The Mourning Dove is also known as the Turtle Dove and is the most common of the wild doves. It usually forages on the ground for seeds.
