Merry Christmas from the St. Simons Island Lighthouse, all decked out in its holiday finery. The original St. Simons Lighthouse was built in 1810 by James Gould and was destroyed by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. The current lighthouse was built in 1872 and has been in continuous use ever since. From this little light of mine, Merry Christmas everyone.
