Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is located near Titusville, Florida, on the Atlantic coast. On a visit this past spring, I took the Black Point Wildlife drive and was treated with sightings of Blue Herons, Tricolored Herons, White Ibis, American Coots, Alligators, wild boars, shovelers, and Glossy Ibis. A group of Manatees were gathered in another location and provided my first views of them. A wonderful place to visit for the nature lover, particularly for the avid photographer, but go when it’s not too hot.
