Is this Mute Swan wearing a mask? It certainly looks like it, doesn’t it? In this closeup photo, we are able to see some of the swan’s distinguishing features, and the mask is definitely one of them. Also of interest is the bulging black knob at the base of the wide orange bill. This image was captured in eastern Massachusetts after the bird had taken a drink. I always like to take a picture of wildlife in the act of doing something. Notice the water dripping from it’s bill. Does this add to the photograph? What do you think?
