The male Eastern Bluebird is a real beauty. I took this shot from behind to highlight the brilliant royal blue of its head and back. It has a rusty colored throat and breast and is brighter in color than the female. The Eastern Bluebird is a small thrush and is the only kind of bluebird that lives east of the Great Plains in The United States. The other two bluebirds are the Western Bluebird and the Mountain Bluebird, but the Eastern Bluebird is the most widespread.
