Often when I’m photographing outdoors, I am looking for something in the environment to help me frame the shot. In this case, I found a circular opening in some tree branches and took the picture of this mother goose and her two goslings through it. The green blur of the leaves in the foreground provides a softness around the edges. It’s as though we are looking in on them, and it adds depth to the image. For me, this photo evokes a pastoral scene, very peaceful and serene. And, if the truth be told, it was.
