Look at this sweet little Eastern Bluebird sitting on the fence in my backyard. Pretty, isn’t it? Eastern Bluebirds are only about 5-7 inches in length, but they make a big impression when they show up in your yard. They were the first birds I started out photographing. A pair nested in a birdhouse in my backyard one spring, so I got to watch them a lot. Birdhouses can provide a safe haven for birds to build their nests, to lay their eggs, and to be protected from predators. Think about putting up a birdhouse or two in your yard. Along with food and water, birdhouses will also attract our feathered friends and will give you many photographic opportunities.
