Unlike the Brown Pelican which dives from the sky to fish, the Double-crested Cormorant fishes from the surface of the water. Cormorants will dive underneath and stay down for quite a while. I took this photo just as the cormorant came back to the surface. Notice those brilliant blue eyes!
