For this cormorant & pelican, what could be better than a lazy afternoon just relaxing and hanging out together? Double-crested Cormorants and Brown Pelicans are a common sight in the pier-village area of St. Simons Island, Georgia. You will often see them taking a break on one of the pilings that stick up out of the water. They are usually either preening or having a little snooze. In this photograph I like the way the pelican’s bill crosses over the cormorant’s tail. It makes for an interesting image.
