Beautiful Buckeye Butterflies are easy to identify by the six large eyespots on their wings. It has one big eyespot on each forewing and two eyespots on each hindwing. The Common Buckeye is further distinguished by a broad white band on its forewings. I often see these colorful beauties at Gascoigne Bluff along with Monarchs and other butterfly species.
