Brown Pelican in Flight from St. Simons Island pier
Check out this Brown Pelican in flight. It had just taken off from the pier when I snapped this shot. Its massive wing span can measure up to seven feet, and it is quite a sight when its wings are completely stretched out. Can you imagine what it takes to flap wings this large? I love to see the Brown Pelican gliding effortlessly on air. They are beauty in motion.
