Look at the layers of feathers on this pelican’s wings. It was drying them while standing on a railing at the pier. When we see wildlife at a distance, we have no idea of the incredible detail involved. I wanted a close-up shot to reveal the many different sizes and layers of feathers. What an intricate pattern nature weaves!
