Birdhouses are great to have in your yard and should be sturdy to withstand any type of weather. They provide a safe haven for all kinds of birds in their breeding seasons. The little Carolina Chickadee peering out from this birdhouse in my backyard is a prime example. This particular birdhouse has been a very busy place. A pair of Eastern Bluebirds called it home in a previous season. While it helps to protect the birds and their young, birdhouses can give you many great opportunities for your backyard photography. Set up your camera where you can easily watch the comings and goings of the parent birds and have patience. Remember not to disturb the birds and to keep a respectful distance.
