Azaleas grow everywhere in the South during the spring, and one of the best places to see them on St. Simons Island where I live is at the Wesley Memorial Gardens. Follow the path in this photo across from Christ Church, and you will find yourself awash in literally thousands upon thousands of brilliantly colored azaleas. It is a spectacular delight to the senses and one that has to be fully experienced. I always love being home in Georgia when the azaleas are in bloom.
