In spring and summer, the male American Goldfinch is unmistakable with its bright yellow body, black forehead, and black and white barred wings and tail. What a beautiful sight! American Goldfinches are very sociable little birds and are fairly widespread around the country. They have a pink-orange conical bill and eat primarily seeds and sometimes insects.
