There are many different breeds of geese, but we will concentrate on the Canada Goose, a familiar sight in North America. Canada Geese are large wild waterbirds that have adapted well to civilization. They routinely show up in parks and on large lawns near water. During the change of seasons, you can often see them flying in their trademark V-formations. They mate for life and will instinctively return to their birth areas to nest. Geese can live up to 25 years and develop strong attachments to other geese in their group.
