I have a confession to make: I love ducks. I had a pet duck when I was a child, and I’m sure our wonderful little “Goldie” explains my fondness for the species. There are over a hundred different kinds of ducks all over the world, and they can usually be spotted in just about any body of water. Lakes, streams, rivers, ponds, and even the ocean provide sustenance for ducks and other waterfowl. Equally at home on the water, the land, or in the sky, ducks are familiar sights. Let’s take a close-up look at a few of them.
